Tropical Depression 'Dolphin' Continues to Affect Cambodia, Bringing Rain and Thunderstorms

Tropical Depression 'Dolphin' (T2613) continues to influence the Kingdom of Cambodia, bringing with it the possibility of rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds in several provinces and regions. However, the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology has announced that Cambodia is not situated within the direct path of 'Dolphin'. According to the ministry's statement on the morning of August 5th, Tropical Depression 'Dolphin' is still impacting the southwest monsoon winds blowing over the Bay of Bengal, the Andaman Sea, the South China Sea, the Mekong River basin, the Cambodian Sea, and the Kingdom of Cambodia. From August 5th to August 7th, the forecast indicates that lowland areas will experience average minimum temperatures of 25°C and average maximum temperatures of 36°C, with winds blowing from the southwest and southeast at an average speed of 3 meters per second. Provinces such as Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Pursat, Kampong Chhnang, Siem Reap, Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Tboung Khmum, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, Takeo, Kandal, and Phnom Penh capital may experience rain with thunderstorms and gusty winds covering approximately 50% of their land area. Highland areas are predicted to have average minimum temperatures of 24°C and average maximum temperatures of 35°C, with winds blowing from the southwest and west at an average speed of 4 meters per second. Provinces including Kampong Speu, Pailin, Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, the Dangrek mountain range, and the Cardamom Mountains may see rain with thunderstorms and gusty winds covering about 70% of their land area. Coastal areas are expected to have average minimum temperatures of 25°C and average maximum temperatures of 35°C, with winds blowing from the southwest and southeast at an average speed of 2 meters per second. Provinces such as Koh Kong, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, Kep, and the Bokor mountain range may experience rain with thunderstorms and gusty winds covering approximately 60% of their land area.
