Myanmar President Arrives in Cambodia for Two-Day State Visit

At approximately 10:30 AM on Friday, September 11, 2026, Myanmar's President Min Aung Hlaing arrived in Cambodia for a two-day state visit, scheduled from September 11 to 12. The visit is made in response to an invitation extended by His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia. The Myanmar president will receive a formal state welcome from Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the interim Head of State acting in the name of the King, at the Senate of Cambodia's Peace Palace. This visit is seen as reflecting the relationship between Cambodia and Myanmar within the ASEAN framework. Particularly, as Myanmar faces increasing international isolation following the 2021 military coup, strengthening ties with Cambodia can be viewed as part of Myanmar's efforts to explore diplomatic avenues.
