Myanmar President Arrives for State Visit to Cambodia

H.E. U Min Aung Hlaing, President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, has commenced his two-day State Visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, following an invitation from His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia. The Myanmar leader arrived at Techo International Airport this morning and was received by H.E. Thor Chetha, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology, serving as the Minister-in-Attendance, along with other senior officials. According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, President U Min Aung Hlaing is slated to hold a summit meeting with Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State, and engage in bilateral talks with Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The discussions between the leaders of both nations are expected to focus on strategies to bolster their close relations and expand mutually beneficial cooperation. They will also exchange views on a range of regional and international issues of mutual interest. During his visit, the President of Myanmar will lay wreaths at the Independence Monument and at the Royal Statue of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah NORODOM SIHANOUK "PREAH BOROM RATANAK KAUDH", the late King-Father of Cambodia. The press release emphasized, “The State Visit of H.E. U Min Aung Hlaing reaffirms the shared commitment to further strengthening the warm bonds of friendship between the two countries and peoples.” The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar officially established their diplomatic relations on July 12, 1955.
